What if I’m buying a new home?

Some areas of Colorado have established special regulations for radon reduction systems in new homes. The federal government is also considering setting national guidelines. However, some contractors are already installing complete radon reduction systems in the new homes they build. The main advantage of installing a system during new home construction is that the pipes and vents can be more easily camouflaged. The result is more aesthetically pleasing. Designing a radon reduction system for a home that has several foundations is easier during new home construction. They can be connected to a single vent. Sometimes passive systems that do not require fans can be installed. Typically such systems are versatile enough to accommodate a fan should radon levels rise later.
